"Sea Express II"
29M Aluminium High Speed Ferry — Launched 2018
Overview
Sea Express II is a new 29-metre high-speed ferry design — one of Sea Speed's best designs to date. This sleek aluminium catamaran goes as well as she looks, achieving over 30 knots during sea trials.
Built in accordance with Lloyds Register SSC Code and US Coast Guard Sub Chapter K requirements, she is suitable for 149 passengers internationally and up to 300 passengers for domestic coastal services. To achieve speeds of over 30 knots, she is powered by twin Baudouin V12 engines at 1,650 H.P. each.
This design can truly be described as environmentally friendly. Engine and exhaust systems meet IMO Tier 3 standard and United States EPA 4 compliance. The exhaust is fitted with an SCR system to ensure emissions are minimised — the first vessel fitted with this system for these particular engines. The vessel also operates with zero discharge.
