New wave sent the construction squad to Baku to complete the vessels, the team of 10 to 15 men plus 10 local azuri laborers took a total of 14 weeks. Other Australian companies to assist with the project in Baku and send men were Doen Waterjets and TMQ Marine Electronics and Lloyds Australia.
The vessels were delivered to the Sipan wharf at SBS facility at Premorsk, south of Baku. They were then loaded on to trucks and moved to the vacant shed which was then set up to build. Work commenced in trying and sometime freezing conditions. “Bue Naryn” was completed first and trucked down to the wharf and craned into the water. On arrival for first sea trials early the next morning the vessel was covered in 2 inches of show. Sea trials were very successful in the 1.5 to 2 metre conditions with the catamaran handling well with speeds up to 32 knots. Bue Daryn followed 2 weeks later.
