First Ferry IX, X, XI

These three 28 meter passenger ferries were designed by Sea Speed Design (CMCS) in Australia and were built by Wang Tak shipyards in China and Hong Kong. They are operated by New World First Ferry in Hong Kong as high speed ferries to the outlying islands. With a full

load, cruise speed is 25 knots and are very succussful examples of econimical ferry transport. Carrying 230 passengers in Air Conditioned comfort, the vessels are powered by twin MTU 12V1000 engines at 1080 hp each.

Features include low-wash hulls with high-slip hull forms giving great fuel economy. These hulls were tank tested and refined giving even better performance.
