New 22M Ferry Design 'Offshore SeaCat 22'

We are proud to announce the new 22m high speed ferry design we have been working on recently and which is currently under construction. The design is brand new (starting from scratch) and we hope we can sell many of these in the future tomak all the development work, worth while. We were given the design brief from the owner to come up with a high performance medium speed passenger catamaran that can operate as an inter-island transport (of up to 150 passengers) at medium cruise speeds of 22-25 knots with low horsepower and excellent fuel economy. The vessel must also be strong enough to operate in offshore conditions with excellent sea keeping. With the overall objective to 'keep it simple' and economical as possible with a cost under $1.5M USD.

So we looked back through our design portfolio and decided to go with a new version of Whitsunday Express (designed in 1997) and upgrade the scantlings for Lloyds SSC Code 150Nautical Miles/NSCV 1B standard increase the tunnel height and plumb up the bow a bit to increase the waterline length.

The design is suitable for offshore services and runs smoothly in rough conditions thanks to the deep vee hulls and aero foil mini keels (which give great tracking in a following seas).

Features Include:

This vessel is being built to Australian NSCV Class 1B (Operating up to 150 NM offshore) The design and construction can be completed to IACS, USCG, depending on the owners’ requirements.
